Legal Framework

Reliability
The reliability of GlobalSign is especially decided by the strict procedures in the allocation of the digital certificates and by the protection of the technological infrastructure. The guarantee attached to a certificate depends on the confidence someone may have in the identity given in it. The identity guarantee, which GlobalSign provides worldwide with the certificates, depends on the verification procedures employed. The levels of identity guarantee are in agreement with internationally recognized classes of certificates. The protection of the technological infrastructure for certification is assured as the key with which GlobalSign signs the allocated certificates is kept in a secret and highly secure environment. GlobalSign uses a detailed policy procedure (CPS).

Neutrality
To be accepted everywhere and by everyone, digital certificates should be issued by a neutral authority and they should be in accordance with internationally recognized standards. GlobalSign delineates a common policy in the field of guarantees and assurances, closely observes developments in the legislative sphere (nationally as well as internationally) and uses the most current, open technologies. The neutrality of GlobalSign is also found in the partnership agreements, which it concludes with the most distinguished software developers in the market such as Microsoft, Apple, Netscape and Sun.
